PHOTOS:HAIR
Haven't let my hair grow without buzzing it for more than a few weeks at a time in over 4 years. Going to give a solid try at not cutting my hair till the end of the summer. Don't know how long I will let it get but here are a few pictures of what my goal will be for now. Also, the beard is going to grow until then too.

I found this video to be beautiful. "I will always be proud. I will love her no matter what she turns out to be where she goes how bad she feels I want her to know that 100% of the time. That is my biggest goal. For her to know that she is loved."
VIDEO:SUBWAYS
This video made me want to travel to New York, just to ride the sub around to all the different parts of town.

VIDEO:JAPAN
This video of the aftermath in Japan left me speechless. If you feel like you have the ability to financially help the people devastated by the quack and tsunami here is the direct link to the american red cross donation site specifically going to help those in the effected area.

MUSIC:WALK IT OFF
Great video with the song Walk it off by Angus and Julia Stone, an acoustic folk band from Sydney, Australia that I started listening to a few months ago. This video reminds me of Where the Wild Things Are.

WORDS:NORWEGIANS AND CHEESECAKE
Spent my evening last night hanging out with a couple of friends and a trio of Norwegians on a road trip through California. I got a moment to ask one of them what his favorite things so far about being in America were. He had spent the afternoon at Huntington beach. It was his favorite place. Everything about it. It was the most relaxing place he said. He loved the American surfer chicks and how laid back and cool they were and showed me some pictures he had taken with and of a few of them and how they had posed for him. Even while we were walking around town little things like asking how large of a fine there was if we didn't wait for the "little white man" to appear before we crossed the street and me not knowing what this "little white man" he was referring the was made me think about how I don't think too often about where I live. It was a fun night hanging out with people from somewhere far away. Also, I was asked the most difficult question I have been asked in a while. "What is my favorite thing about America?" i was stumped for a while. The only sad part of spending time with this group from Norway was Norwegians don't seem to be big fans of Mexican food. Oh well, more for me.

VIDEO:VOLKSWAGON FORCE OUTTAKES
This is an alternate version of the commercial so many people loved during the Super Bowl. I was thinking about why this video makes me smile and it is because there is still a small Darth Vader inside of me. There is still part of me that imagines, embraces fantasy, and hopes to incredible things. Today, embrace your inner small Darth Vader.
PS this one does have an alternate ending....

VIDEO:THIS KINGDOM
I found this video very interesting. Watched it after watching last minutes with oden. It is the same account phos pictures. It is pretty heavy but there is something about the voice over with the emotion in the video that I find striking and powerful.
"When He feels like He is the furthest is when He's the closest."

VIDEO:LOVE
Powerful snapshot of love. Even if you have never been the owner of an animal, which I don't count myself in, I think the message of this speaks to something deeper.
VIDEO:WINTER
Winters of My Life is a portrait of Howard Weamer. For the past 35 years he has spent his winters as a hutkeeper in Yosemite's backcountry. He fills his days writing, reading, photographing, and being an ambassador to mountain culture. This is a brief look into his world and why he chooses to stay.
This man's life reminds me of a John Muir quote, "Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul."

WORDS:INSPIRATION
Quit smoking around 5 months ago. Found this timeline on what would happen if a person quits smoking right now.
* In 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back down to normal.
* In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.
* In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.
* In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase.
* In 2 weeks your circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks.
* In three to nine months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems will dissipate as your lung capacity improves by 10%.
* In 1 year your risk of having a heart attack will have dropped by half.
* In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.
* In 10 years your risk of lung cancer will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
* In 15 years your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
Inspiration to never go back.

VIDEOS:DEDICATION
I find this man's life intriguing or at least the way he portrays it. To interact with people all over the world in this/his unique visual way is as capturing as his photography itself.
I came across this video through the first and seems to be the opposite to the previous video in one important aspect. This photographer was interacting and capturing the world around her but not for the reason as the Sartoralist. She did not care to share it with others, or at least didn't know how to.
This video does not have the same theme of photography as the others but has a distinct similarity. These two men have dedicated themselves to their craft. Also, they have great beards.
